Job summary

Portland Canal Transportation Limited Partnership is seeking professional Class 1 Truck Drivers to join our Stewart, BC team. You will haul copper ore using B-train trailers for Red Chris Copper Ore Haul and related projects in a northern British Columbia community.

The role begins October 1, 2026, with training provided. We offer fly-in/fly-out options, accommodations, and a comprehensive benefits package funded by Portland Canal.

Qualifications

• Class 1 license required.
• Minimum 5 years Class 1 driving experience.
• Previous super B, mountain, and winter driving experience is required.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Oversee cargo handling and secure loads, including equipment preparation and safe practices.
• Perform pre and post trip inspections and ensure roadworthiness and regulatory compliance.
• Comply with applicable legislation, hours of service, and safety protocols.
• Operate truck and trailer with cab computers, CB radios, and communication devices.
• Record and check all relevant paperwork such as bills of lading for accuracy.
• Provide feedback to supervisor on customer or mechanical issues.
• Train others when required.
