Job summary

Sobeys in Winnipeg is seeking a Truck Driver to deliver customer orders and pick up merchandise, operating company vehicles safely and efficiently. You will help maintain a positive and productive working environment while ensuring accuracy with loads and documentation.

The role requires a Class 1 license, at least two years of tractor-trailer or straight truck experience, and the physical ability to lift and move heavy loads.

Qualifications

• Two years of tractor-trailer or straight truck driving experience.
• High School Graduate.
• Class 1 Driver's License.
• Physical ability to perform lifting and bending.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
• Willingness to work in varying temperatures.
• Strong attention to load accuracy and safety.

Responsibilities

• Pre-inspect truck and ensure safe operation.
• Complete manifest/logbook and maintain documentation.
• Drive truck to deliver orders or pick up merchandise.
• Unload trailer at stores and verify case-count vs. order.
• Maintain safe driving practices and customer relations.
• Follow driver SOP and maintain clean work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

The Truck Driver will deliver customer orders or pick up merchandise byoperatingthe company vehicles in a safe andexpeditiousmanner. Actively contributes to a positive andproductive working environment.

Shift Details: 40 hours/week (4-day schedule, 10 hours/day). Open availability required. Start times may vary between 3:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. Schedule includes three days off per week (two consecutive days off and one additional day off)

Here’swhereyou’llbe focusing:

• Pre-inspect truck
• Complete manifest/logbook
• Ensure that the proper documentation is maintained
• Maintain equipment and report any damages, necessary repairs, or malfunctions
• Drive transport truck or straight truck in a safe and respectful manner
• Ensure merchandise loaded in vehicle is stowed in a safe and damage-free manner
• Unload trailer at stores
• Ensure case-count delivered corresponds with order, pick up credit, or damaged product
• Alwaysmaintaingood working relations with customersthrough cooperative attitude and well-groomed appearance
• Exercisegood drivingmanners and taking precautionary measures during inclement weather conditions
• Follow the instructions outlined in the driver SOP and pay attention to detail
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment as per company requirements
• Responsible for all other duties assigned by manager
