Job summary

Canada Cartage in Calgary, AB is seeking a dependable Owner Operator to join our growing transportation team. The Class 1 Truck Driver will safely transport freight across Canada–U.S.

routes, complete deliveries and pickups, and maintain compliance with hours-of-service and load securement. This full-time role requires mountain driving experience, a valid Class 1 license, and a strong focus on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class 1 driver's license.
  • Clean 5 years Commercial driving abstract (no more than 3 demerits and 3 negative events)
  • Valid FAST Card or TWIC Card
  • Mountain driving experience a must
  • Truck should not be older than 6 years
  • Bondable and legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Strong understanding of road safety regulations, hours of service, and load securement
  • Experience operating commercial vehicles in winter driving conditions
  • Ability to accurately complete eLogs, vehicle inspection reports, and delivery documentation
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as required
  • Strong customer service and communication skills with a professional, safety-focused approach

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate vehicles to transport freight across Canada–U.S. routes
  • Complete deliveries and pickups to customer locations in a safe, timely, and professional manner
  • Operate tractor-trailer equipment in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections of the vehicle, including checking tires, brakes, lights, and cargo securement; promptly report any issues to the maintenance department for timely repairs.
  • Accurately complete all required documentation, including e-logs, inspection reports, delivery paperwork, and incident reports
  • Maintain compliance with hours-of-service regulations, safety policies, and company procedures
  • Maintain flexibility to meet operational and customer demands, including variable schedules, overtime, weekends, or overnight runs as required

Delivery Area: Canada–U.S

Employment Type: Full-Time

Shift Schedule: 4-5 days a week Sunday to Thursday/Friday (Could vary depending on coverage required weekends). Open for night driving as well
