Vertex is growing and looking for Full Time Class 1 Operators with Semi-Vac, Super B, Combo-Vac and Tanker experience to join our Fort McMurray, Alberta team. Local candidates from the Fort McMurray area are preferred, with 24/16 rotations.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 driver's license with a clean commercial abstract.
• Minimum 2 years of Combo Unit or Semi Vac running experience.
• Minimum 2 years of hauling fluids with Super B's and Tankers experience.
• Safety tickets including H2S Alive, First Aid and CSO.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and satisfaction at all times.
• Comply with company policies, health and safety procedures and regs.
• Perform unit maintenance for cleanliness and efficient operation.
• Complete and maintain daily logs, dispatch and trip reports timely.
• Follow local, provincial and federal compliance regulations.
• Conduct pre/post trip inspections and report inefficiencies to Supervisor.
• Observe company environmental health and safety guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure customer and client satisfaction by providing excellent customer service at all times
• Comply with Company policies and procedures, health and safety procedures, Department of Transportation and hazardous materials/waste requirements and regulations
• Perform maintenance on units to ensure cleanliness and efficient operation
• Complete and maintain all required paperwork and documentation properly within set timelines; this includes daily logs, dispatch and trip reports and time sheets
• Follow all local, provincial and federal compliance regulations and rules
• Perform pre and post trip inspections, follow company policies and procedures for routine maintenance, perform general housekeeping to ensure units are operating properly and report any inefficiency to Supervisor
• Safely observe all company operating guidelines and procedures
• Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines

Candidate Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 driver’s license with a clean commercial abstract
• Minimum 2 years of Combo Unit or Semi Vac running experience
• Minimum 2 years of hauling fluids with Super B's and Tankers experience
• Possess safety tickets including but not limited to H2S Alive, First Aid and CSO
• Drug & Alcohol Testing returned Non-negative (Provided by Vertex)
• ELD logbook experience
• Demonstrate a commitment to environmental compliance and safe work practices
• Ability to work independently while managing time and productivity
• Must be in good health and physical condition to perform duties assigned
• Integrity and reliability, willing to accept out of town work when applicable/necessary
• Knowledge and experience in Pulp & Paper, Thermal and Oil & Gas considered an asset

Assets to Have

• Possess CSTS 2020, Fall Protection and Confined Space Entry & Monitor safety tickets
