Job summary

Manitoulin Transport seeks a professional driver for the Hinton/Jasper area. The role starts early, Tuesday through Saturday, with shifts at 5 am and 9–10 hour days. You will deliver and pickup freight, perform vehicle inspections, and return home each night.

Requirements include a Class 1 license, 1 year of experience, ability to lift 50 lbs, and GPS/communications device use. Willingness to relocate to Hinton is expected; TDG/WHMIS experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Class 1 license and 1 year driving experience.
• Must be reliable and dependable.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly at various customers.
• Familiarity with Hinton/Jasper area is an asset.
• Willingness to relocate to Hinton.
• TDG, WHMIS, and Forklift experience are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and pick up freight in the Hinton and Jasper area in a timely manner.

• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of equipment.

Job Description

• The driver is responsible for the timely delivery and pickup of freight within the Hinton and Jasper area
• Shift is Tuesday to Saturday
• Start time of 5 am on weekdays and 5 AM on Saturday
• Average working hours are 9 to 10 hours a day.
• Some flexibility required to meet customers' requirements
• Pre and post-trip inspections of equipment
• Home every night
  

Qualifications

• Class 1 license
• 1 year of experience
• Reliable and dependable
• Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly at various customers.
• Operate GPS and communication devices
• Knowledge of the Hinton and Jasper area is an asset
• Ability to maneuver a 48ft tailgate trailer into tight areas in Jasper to complete deliveries
• Must be willing to relocate to Hinton
• Deck experience is an asset
• TDG, WHMIS, and Forklift experience are an asset
• Must be able to provide a criminal record check, driver's abstract, 2 work-related references
