Job summary

Gordon Food Service - Canada in Delta, BC is hiring a Class 1 Local Delivery Driver. This role covers local routes from Delta, with a 3:30am start, a 4x10 schedule, and starting pay at $35.94 per hour with potential to reach $41.97 after 12 months.

You will offload products, record delivery information, and ensure vehicle safety, while delivering exceptional customer service and TDG compliance where required.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Proven ability to lift, push and pull up to 80 lbs.
• Eligibility for TDG certification.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and reliability.
• High level of integrity and self-direction.
• Professional demeanour under pressure.
• Availability for weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Safely offload products and record delivery information.
• Accept payment for goods when required and ensure accurate transactions.

Position: Class 1 Local Delivery Driver (Delta)

Schedule: 4 X 10 | Floater | 3:30am - 6:00am start time

Position Overview

The Class 1 Local Delivery Driver will be responsible for covering delivery shifts out of Delta.

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities include correctly offloading products, recording delivery information, accepting payment for goods when required, and ensuring operational vehicle safety in all aspects. The Class 1 Local Delivery Driver is expected to operate the vehicle in a safe manner at all times, obeying all rules and regulations of the road, and following all appropriate company policies and procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 driver\’s license and a clean driver\’s abstract
• Proven ability of lifting, pushing and pulling up to 80 lbs
• Eligibility for bonding and transportation of dangerous goods (TDG) certification
• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• A high level of integrity and a strong work ethic, able to work with little supervision and be self-directed
• Professional demeanor under stressful situations
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Availability for weekends and holidays
