Job summary

Midland Transport in Moncton Terminal, NB is seeking a Class 1 Linehaul Shunt Driver to cover regional Maritime runs and yard shunting at Tissue Plant, Master Packaging, and Midland yards. The role emphasizes safe, accurate, and timely movement of equipment and freight with 4 days on / 4 days off shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM or 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

You need a High School or GED and a Class 1 license with at least 3 years of safe tractor experience, a clean abstract, and strong communication.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a tractor trailer safely for regional Maritime runs and shunting.

  • Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections as required.
  • Refuel refrigerated units as needed.
  • Maintain equipment per standards and communicate with supervisors.
  • Report incidents or damages immediately and follow safety policies.
  • Follow company procedures and safety guidelines.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Midland Transport is currently seeking a professional Class 1 Linehaul Shunt Driver based out of Moncton Terminal, NB. The selected candidate will be a reliable person with a strong work ethic and great and positive attitude with a commitment to provide a Superior Quality Service.

Main Role

The driver will be responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely movement of equipment and freight. Responsibilities include a combination of regional driving throughout the Maritimes and shunting operations at the Tissue Plant, Master Packaging, and Midland yards, based on operational needs. This role requires strong time management skills and a strong commitment to safety.

4 days on, 4 days off | 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM

Responsibilities
  • Operate a tractor trailer safely and efficiently while performing regional runs throughout the Maritimes and shunting operations between the Tissue Plant, Master Packaging, and Midland yards.
  • Move equipment and freight in a safe, accurate, and timely manner while meeting operational requirements.
  • Complete all required pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections in accordance with legal and company requirements.
  • Refuel refrigerated units as required.
  • Maintain company equipment in accordance with established standards.
  • Communicate effectively with the Supervisor and dispatch team.
  • Report any incidents, accidents, injuries, or equipment damage immediately.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Qualifications
  • Education Required: High School or GED.
  • Class 1 driver's license with a minimum of 3 years' safe tractor driving experience required.
  • Clean driver's abstract and criminal search.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to lift to 50 lbs. using the proper equipment.
  • Excellent work ethic and reliability.
  • Safety conscious.
