Job summary

United Rentals in Calgary, Canada, is seeking a Class A CDL Driver to deliver equipment to customers safely and on time while serving as a company ambassador. You will ensure courteous service and support trench safety needs on every job.

This role requires operating trucks and trailers, maintaining logs, and upholding strict safety standards. You will be home every night and have opportunities for career advancement within the world’s largest equipment rental provider.

Qualifications

• This role requires a valid CDL-A and a clean driving record.
• A High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 2 years of DOT-regulated Commercial Driving Experience.
• Strong customer service and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
• Basic knowledge of construction equipment and safety procedures.
• Diligent attention to safety.

Responsibilities

• Drop off and pick up equipment for customers.
• Operate construction equipment such as semi-trucks and trailers (CDL-A).
• Maintain driver logs and complete pre-trip inspections.
• Suggest additional equipment and supplies customers may need.
• Operate boom trucks and cranes per manufacturer specs.
• Adhere to safety requirements and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you'll do:

• Drop off and pick up equipment for customers
• Operate construction equipment, such as semi-trucks and trailers ("low boys") consistent with DOT classification CDL-A
• Maintain driver's logs and complete pre-trip inspections
• Suggest additional equipment and supplies customers may need
• Must also be able to operate boom trucks and cranes in accordance with manufacturer specifications
• Adhere to all safety requirements particular to equipment including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
• Other duties assigned as needed

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals' policies and procedures.
