Finning Canada, part of the world’s largest Caterpillar dealer, is seeking a dedicated Class 1 Driver for Cat Rentals in Fort McMurray, Alberta. You will safely transport equipment, perform inspections, and maintain logs while upholding a strong safety culture and customer service excellence.

Starting wage is $52.80/hr with industry-leading employer paid benefits, share purchase options, RRSP plans and additional perks. Unionized environment and CAT dealer training are provided.

Qualifications

• Alberta Class 1 license with a clean abstract.
• Experience with tractor-trailer and heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of transportation regulations and load securement.
• Ability to load/unload and secure equipment safely.
• Commitment to workplace safety.
• Strong communication and customer service.
• Proficiency with MS Office and electronic systems.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.

Responsabilités

• Provide exceptional customer service in a professional manner.

• Operate Class 1 vehicles, including trucks and trailers.
• Load, unload, inspect and secure equipment for transport.
• Complete pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspections.
• Maintain driver logs and transportation documentation.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and regulations.
• Communicate with customers, dispatch and branches regarding deliveries.
• Perform general yard and branch duties as required.
• Assist with inspections and rental readiness.

Job Description:

• Provide exceptional customer service in a professional and courteous manner while maintaining a positive company image.
• Safely transport rental equipment to and from customer locations, branch locations, and job sites.
• Operate Class 1 commercial vehicles, including truck and trailer combinations, in accordance with all applicable regulations and company policies.
• Load, unload, inspect, and secure equipment for transportation using proper load securement procedures.
• Complete required pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections.
• Maintain accurate driver logs, inspection reports, and transportation documentation.
• Ensure compliance with all safety policies, provincial transportation regulations, and company procedures.
• Communicate effectively with customers, dispatch, and branch personnel regarding deliveries and pickups.
• Perform general yard and branch duties as required.
• Assist with equipment inspections and preparation for rental readiness.

Qualifications:

• Valid Alberta Class 1 Driver's License with a clean driver's abstract.
• Experience operating tractor-trailer combinations and transporting construction or heavy equipment.
• Strong understanding of transportation regulations and load securement requirements.
• Ability to safely load, unload, and secure a variety of equipment.
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and electronic operating systems.
• Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.

Important Information:

• This position is based in Calgary, AB on a 5x2 Shift. (Monday to Friday)
• Hours and shift schedule may be subject to change to meet customer and/or Finning (Canada) requirements. Please note that any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the Terms & Conditions of the current Collective Agreement
