Job summary

Vertex is seeking an experienced Class 1 Fluids Operator in Estevan, SK, to join a fast-paced team on a slip-seat schedule (one day, one night). The role offers competitive compensation commensurate with education and experience and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, compliant operations, timely deliveries, strict paperwork, and maintaining safety and environmental standards while supporting a growing North American footprint.

Qualifications

• FAST CARD holder and valid Class 1 license with clean abstract.
• Minimum 2 years' experience driving tank trucks (fluid hauling).
• Capable to operate Pusher Axle Truck, Tri-Axle units and Super B trucks.
• Must possess safety tickets: First Aid/CPR, CSTS, TDG, H2S Alive.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper loading and unloading of cargo; adhere to weight limits and use equipment properly.
• Comply with company policies, Health & Safety, DOT and HMW requirements.
• Complete daily scheduled deliveries and services in a timely manner.
• Provide excellent service to maximize customer and client satisfaction.
• Complete and maintain all paperwork (logs, dispatch/trip reports, demurrage, timesheets).
• Follow local, provincial and federal compliance regulations and rules.
• Perform pre/post trip inspections and routine maintenance; report inefficiencies.
• Maintain general housekeeping so units operate safely and efficiently.
• Observe company EH&S guidelines and operating procedures.
• Be available for after-hours calls and occasional overnight stays in truck.

Vertex is currently accepting applications for experienced full-time Class 1 Fluids Operator with a FAST CARD.

This is a slip-seat position that consists of one day shift and one night shift. We have a great team and the ability to generate above average industry revenue.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

• FAST CARD Holder
• Valid Class 1 driver's license with a clean driver abstract
• Minimum 2 years' experience driving tank trucks (fluid hauling) desired
• Capable to operate, Pusher Axle Truck, Tri - Axle units and Super B trucks
• Should possess the following safety tickets, but not limited to; First Aid/CPR, Construction Safety Training (CSTS), Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and H2S Alive
• Demonstrate a commitment to environmental compliance and safe work practices
• Ability to work independently while managing time and productivity
• Must be capable of performing physical duties(lifting, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching)
• Available to accept after hour calls when requested and sometimes may spend nights in the truck

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure proper loading and unloading of cargo; adhere to weight limits and ensure proper utilization of company equipment.
• Comply with Company policies and procedures, Health and Safety procedures, Department of Transportation and Hazardous Materials/Waste requirements and regulations.
• Complete daily scheduled deliveries and services in a timely manner.
• Highest attention towards customer and client satisfaction by providing excellent service always.
• Complete and maintain all required paperwork and documentation properly within set time lines; this includes daily logs, dispatch and trip reports, demurrage and time sheets.
• Follow all local, provincial and federal compliance regulations and rules.
• Perform pre and post trip inspections, follow company policies and procedures for routine maintenance, perform general housekeeping to ensure units are operating properly and report any inefficiency to Supervisor.
• Safely observe all company operating guidelines and procedures.
• Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines.
