Job summary

John Ross & Sons Ltd. in Halifax seeks energetic and safety minded drivers to join the team. This full-time role focuses on transporting metal products across the Maritimes, maintaining cargo safety, and completing delivery paperwork.

Hours are Monday to Friday 6:30 AM–5:00 PM with Saturdays as needed; pay ranges from $24.00/hr to $31.00/hr in Canada. Authorized to work in Canada is required.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 or Class 3 license is mandatory.
• Clean driving Abstract is mandatory.
• Minimum 2 years driving experience in a Class 1 or Class 3 role in Canada is mandatory.
• Safety minded with clear communication skills.
• Ability to drive in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Help to transport metal products across the Maritimes.
• Ensure safety and security of cargo.
• Haul various metal recycling products.
• Gather appropriate paperwork for deliveries.
• Record hours and mileage in logbook.
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicle.
• Report deficiencies to management.

John Ross & Sons Ltd. specializes in purchasing and processing all ferrous and non-ferrous metals, along with accepting a wide range of recyclable material to process.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• Help to transport metal products across the Maritimes
• Ensuring safety and security of cargo
• Hauling various metal recycling products
• Gather appropriate paperwork for deliveries
• Properly record hours and mileage in logbook
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicle
• Ensure deficiencies are noted and reported to management

Qualifications and Skills:

• Valid Class 1 or Class 3 License is mandatory
• Clean Drivers Abstract is mandatory
• Minimum 2 years driving experience in a Class 1 or Class 3 role in Canada is mandatory
