Job description

We’re looking for an experienced claims professional to help launch and shape CFC’s Canadian Admitted Claims offering. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in strengthening our global claims capability while ensuring policyholders and brokers continue to receive the high-quality, responsive service CFC is known for.

You will focus on handling a range of property and casualty claims. You’ll also collaborate with specialist vendors, including forensic, legal and PR partners, to deliver cost-effective, high-quality support to insureds when they need it most.

This role will also involve partnering with Underwriting, Finance, IT and Product teams, while operating in line with all relevant legal, state and statutory requirements. If you do not already hold all necessary licences, CFC will support you with the preparation and cost of completing any required licensing exams.

About the role
  • Manage a varied caseload of claims from first notification of loss through to resolution, including property and casualty and speciality claims
  • Build strong relationships with policyholders, brokers and internal stakeholders, delivering a consistently high standard of customer service.
  • Work closely with response vendors during claims incidents, ensuring insureds receive timely, effective and value-for-money support.
  • Ensure claims are reserved promptly and accurately, identifying recovery opportunities and taking steps to reduce claims leakage.
  • Prioritise effectively and manage key deadlines, including those arising from lawsuits, demand letters and claims queries.
  • Partner with service providers to ensure high-quality support is delivered within agreed timeframes.
  • Maintain accurate electronic claims files, support payment requests and contribute to the production of management information.
  • Share claims insight and trends with underwriters and Product teams to support ongoing product development and wording improvements.
  • Identify and escape claims-related issues to your line manager where appropriate.
About you

What we are looking for:

  • Proven experience handling complex claims, ideally in Property & Casualty
  • A strong understanding of claims processes, reserving, coverage analysis and litigation management.
  • Experience working with brokers, policyholders and external vendors, with a clear focus on delivering excellent customer service.
  • The confidence to manage competing priorities, deadlines and stakeholder expectations in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented and commercially minded approach, with sound judgement and strong communication skills.
  • Relevant claims licensing for Canada, or a willingness to complete any required licensing exams with CFC’s support.
