Are you someone who is passionate about providing exceptional customer service, has a great sense of collaboration, and is attentive to detail?

Reporting to the Claims Manager in the Special Markets division, you will adjudicate and manage a fluctuating caseload of new and ongoing disability, life, critical illness, and health claims. You will assess claims and make challenging decisions by following policy guidelines, which clients may challenge, while maintaining excellent relationships with Claimants, TPA/Brokers, and other Stakeholders.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  1. Making adjudications of claims and ensuring adherence to policies.
  2. Fostering a culture of openness and flexibility with TPA’s and brokers while ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
  3. Developing and maintaining positive and effective business relationships with claimants, brokers, and group policyholders.
  4. Participating in meetings to discuss claims services and practices, and engaging in presentations by internal teams or external organizations.
  5. Adjudicating complex and/or contentious AD&D, Life, Disability, CI claims, including waiver of premium claims.
  6. Reviewing proposed amendments and updates to claims or policy forms and providing opinions on their acceptability and adequacy.
  7. Reviewing claims with Medical Consultants.

What we are looking for:

  1. Degree in Health Sciences, Business Administration, or equivalent education and experience.
  2. At least 3 years of experience in the Insurance industry.
  3. Knowledge of group life, health, accident, and sickness plans, and understanding of Third Party Administrators and Payors.
  4. Strong desire to provide superior customer service and relationship-building skills.
  5. Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  6. Ability to remain calm under pressure when making quick payments.
  7. Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
  8. Advanced level of French language skills, as the role involves auditing, reviewing claims in French, and communicating with French-speaking clients and colleagues daily.

Compensation:

The typical hiring range for this position is between $55,000 and $65,000. The offered salary depends on location, skills, experience, and internal equity. All permanent iA employees are eligible for an annual bonus.
