Currently, we are expanding and looking to add a motivated individual to our team based out of our Brampton office.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and adjudicate complex claims, including litigation, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee investigation, evaluation, and resolution of bodily injury claims involving company vehicles or drivers.
- Prepare detailed file summaries for internal reporting, large loss assessments, and reinsurance purposes, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Handle bodily injury claims in accordance with industry best practices and company policies.
- Adjust physical damage claims, including unreported damage claims.
- Negotiate directly with insurance adjusters, claimants, and third-party representatives upon receipt of critical information.
- Discuss accidents, damage, preventability, and processes with commercial vehicle operators; maintain relevant claim files.
- Report claims and accidents as necessary.
- Be available on-call nights and weekends for serious accidents and other duties.
- Manage vendor relationships, including towing companies, body shops, and storage yards, to obtain accurate costs for claims settlement.
- Update and post payments for repairs.
- Order police reports, set up new claim files, and confirm losses with insurers and brokers.
- Communicate with Claims, Safety/Compliance teams, and others as necessary.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in an Insurance or related program.
- 2+ years of experience in trucking, claims, safety, or compliance preferred.
- Experience with commercial lines and transportation liability.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
- Strong multi-tasking, time management, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and stay calm in crisis situations.
