WCB-Alberta is hiring an Adjudicator in Edmonton/Calgary to determine entitlements on disability claims, manage high-volume caseloads, and communicate decisions with clients and stakeholders. This role emphasizes fairness, empathy, and policy-based decision making in a hybrid work environment.

Start January 2027 with twelve weeks of training; in-office presence required during training and hybrid work thereafter. Competitive benefits and ongoing professional development available.

Qualifikationen

• Degree or diploma in Social Sciences or equivalent.
• Experience in caseload management and entitlement decisions is/assets.
• Ability to build business relationships and reach agreement on actions.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize workload.
• Quick learner with a strong record of achievement.
• Goal oriented with solid decision-making and planning skills.
• Reliability and excellent time management are critical.
• Proficient computer knowledge and keyboard skills.
• Familiarity with medical or rehabilitative terminology is an asset.
• Ability to apply policy with creative problem solving and fairness.
• Effective communication skills – listening, collaboration, and written/verbal.

Aufgaben

• Maintain a high-volume caseload by making timely, well-informed decisions regarding claims, including entitlement of medical and financial benefits.
• Determine when claims may require further services or support from a case manager.
• Obtain medical opinions and coordinate or authorize medical treatment with health-care providers and representatives.
• Establish compensation rates and entitlements anchored to the Act and policies.
• Navigate conflict and lead challenging conversations with empathy while maintaining relationships.
• Use various communication methods to deliver regular claim updates or decisions.
• Build partnerships to work collaboratively to meet shared objectives.
• Deliver high level customer service and educate clients on expectations.
• Maintain timely communication and documentation.
• Uphold the Alberta Workers’ Compensation Act values and regulations.
