Job summary

WB Melback Corporation, based in Haileybury, Ontario, is seeking a Cladding Foreman/Lead to oversee on-site cladding installation projects across Canada. You will mentor crews, read blueprints, and ensure installations meet exacting standards while maintaining safety and schedule.

The role requires at least 5 years in cladding or exterior envelope work, including supervisory experience, with a strong grasp of building codes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in cladding, siding, or exterior building envelope installation.
  • Previous supervisory or foreman experience preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of exterior cladding systems and installation methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable building codes and workplace health and safety regulations.
  • Experience operating lifts, scaffolding, and fall protection equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, lead, and mentor cladding installation crews on multiple job sites.
  • Plan, organize, and assign daily work activities to maximize productivity.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
  • Coordinate material deliveries, equipment, and manpower requirements.
  • Ensure the accurate installation of cladding systems, including metal panels, ACM, fibre cement, siding, insulation, weather barriers, flashing, and trim.
  • Conduct quality inspections throughout the installation process to ensure compliance with company standards and project specifications.
  • Enforce all health and safety policies, including fall protection, PPE requirements, and safe work practices.
  • Lead daily safety meetings and toolbox talks.
  • Identify and resolve installation issues while minimizing project delays.
  • Communicate project progress, labour requirements, and site concerns to the Project Manager or Site Superintendent.
  • Train and develop new and existing employees on installation techniques, quality expectations, and safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records, including daily reports, time sheets, safety documentation, and material usage.
  • Coordinate with other trades to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are maintained in a clean and safe condition.
  • Assist with hands‑on installation work as required.

WB Melback Corporation is a wholly Canadian owned company with headquarters based in Haileybury, Ontario with job sites all over the country. WB Melback Corporation provides Mechanical Maintenance and Industrial Construction Services to Forestry and Mining sectors across Canada.

The Cladding Foreman/Lead oversees the daily operations of cladding installation projects, providing leadership and technical guidance to installation crews while ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project specifications, company standards, and applicable building codes.
