Job summary

Jacob Bros Construction in British Columbia is seeking a Project Coordinator for civil construction projects. The role reports to the Project Manager and supports planning, organization and direction of projects across sites in the lower mainland.

The ideal candidate has a civil engineering or construction management background and at least one year of project coordination experience with heavy civil work, strong communication skills, and proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Project and the Microsoft

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 1 year Project Coordinator experience with a General Contractor on heavy civil construction projects.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, project teams and subtrades.
• Strong knowledge of construction specifications, methods and procedures.
• Working knowledge of scheduling, estimating and subcontracts.
• Proficient with project control software applications, including AutoCAD, MS Project and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Legally entitled to work for any employer in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Maintains project document control including daily reports, RFIs, shop drawings, changes, billing, and daily labor timesheets.
• Assists Superintendent with work plans and scheduling updates, updating drawings, and supervision of subcontractor operations.
• Supervises field operations and coordinates on-site work.
• Assists with implementing and monitoring Quality and Safety Plans, including safety reviews and toolbox talks.
• Assists in preparing purchase orders, subcontracts and change orders.
• Performs basic engineering calculations and interpretations for field crews.
• Orders, schedules and tracks material deliveries to site.
• Performs other duties as required.
