Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Civil Inspector role ensures all civil construction work complies with applicable codes, project specifications, and design requirements. The Civil Inspector will conduct on-site inspections, monitor subcontractor work, and manage third-party testing providers to maintain the integrity of the Quality Management System. The ideal candidate will contribute to continuous improvement and promote a culture of quality on-site.

The ideal candidate will contribute to continuous improvement and promote a culture of quality on-site.
This role is based out of Chalk River, ON.
Implement and oversee the Civil Quality Control program during active construction phases.
Perform civil inspections for self-performed and subcontracted scopes
Coordinate and audit third-party geotechnical and materials testing.
Review and ensure compliance with codes, client specifications, and design drawings.
Monitor and audit subcontractor quality programs and field performance.
Interface regularly with client quality representatives to address issues and progress.
Assist with documentation control, inspection records, and turnover packages.
Prepare and execute Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
Support the resolution of non-conformances (NCRs) and corrective actions (CARs) identified during inspections or audits.
Develop written procedures or supplemental plans for project-specific civil tasks.
Support Quality Manager in the creation and execution of the Project Quality Plan.
Build and manage inspection packages for system walkdowns.
Collaborate closely with site construction teams to ensure project goals are met.
Adhere to and promote site-specific health, safety, and environmental standards.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or equivalent discipline.
3–5 years of field experience in civil construction and quality control inspections.
Familiarity with geotechnical testing and concrete quality control procedures.
Experience in industrial construction, particularly in the Oil & Gas or Nuclear sectors, is an asset.
Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and applicable Canadian codes and standards.
Proficient with software tools such as Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and other project documentation platforms.
Strong communication skills (written and verbal), organizational skills, and attention to detail.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
Knowledge of Ontario Health & Safety and Environmental Regulations applicable to construction.
