Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Canada offers a Civil Engineering Co-Op for students, based in Mississauga or Pickering. You will support engineers and project teams, gaining hands-on exposure to design, coordination, QA/QC, and documentation within a safety-focused nuclear engineering context.

Qualifications

  • Ability to apply engineering principles to practical solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with MATLAB, MathCAD, or StaadPro is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Support Engineers, Discipline Leads, and Engineering Managers in day-to-day engineering activities and coordination.
  • Assist in delivering work in accordance with AtkinsRéalis Inc. / Candu Energy Quality Assurance Programs and project requirements.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams on assigned task scopes.
  • Collaborate with civil team members to facilitate workflow, document reviews, and RFI correspondence.
  • Attend technical and project coordination meetings.
  • Contribute to engineering and project management activities across various projects.
  • Promote a positive and collaborative team environment.

Job Description Civil Engineering Student Overview

As a Civil Co‑Op Student, you will join the Engineering team and support a variety of nuclear engineering projects while gaining hands‑on experience through training, mentoring, and real‑world project exposure. Based in Mississauga or Pickering, this opportunity offers valuable insight into technical, engineering interface, and project management activities within a safety‑focused and innovative industry.

Your Role
  • Support Engineers, Discipline Leads, and Engineering Managers in day‑to‑day engineering activities and coordination

  • Collaborate with members of the civil team to facilitate workflow, document reviews, and Request for Information (RFI) correspondence
  • Attend technical and project coordination meetings
  • Contribute to engineering and project management activities across various projects
  • Promote a positive and collaborative team environment
About You
  • Ability to apply engineering principles to practical solutions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with MATLAB, MathCAD, or StaadPro is an asset
  • Aptitude for planning, organization, multitasking, and working in a dynamic team environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering Program with an accredited Canadian University
