Job description

Req ID:479565

At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, more than 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your seasoned and multifaceted expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside innovative, collaborative, and dedicated teammates. You'll provide pivotal leadership and direction in the realm of civil works, ensuring the successful planning and execution of infrastructure projects. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (including project management, construction, and design), oversee the preparation of technical specifications and manage external civil engineering contracts, and much more.

We’ll look to you for:

  1. Leadership in the planning and execution of civil engineering subcontracting activities,
  2. Strategic planning of project timelines and deliverables, as well as budget management,
  3. Collaboration with cross-functional teams (i.e Electrification, Installation, etc.) to align civil engineering activities with overall project objectives,
  4. Mentoring and developing team members to foster a continuous learning environment,
  5. Preparation of detailed specifications for civil works projects and scope of works,
  6. Ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  1. Degree in Civil Engineering or related field,
  2. PEng Accreditation or equivalent certification,
  3. Experience of major Civil Rail Infrastructure projects,
  4. Knowledge of civil work engineering principles and practices,
  5. Capacity for strategic planning and execution,
  6. Adaptability to evolving industry standards and technologies,
  7. Proven leadership and team management abilities.

Things you’ll enjoy

Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  1. Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues,
  2. Contribute to innovative projects,
  3. Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension),
  4. Work with cutting-edge civil engineering methodologies and tools to support major Civil Rail Infrastructure projects.

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!

Important to note

As a global business, we’re an equal-opportunity employer that celebrates diversity across the 63 countries we operate in. We’re committed to creating an inclusive workplace for everyone.
