City of Surrey Technical Assistant II is a full-time role in Development Services. The position involves working with planning and engineering teams on land development applications, coordinating with developers, engineers, consultants, internal staff, and the public to review designs under tight deadlines.
The ideal candidate holds a two-year Diploma in Engineering Technology (Civil) and at least three years of related experience, plus a valid BC driver’s license.

We are looking to add to our team of passionate, knowledgeable, and innovative engineering professionals, who will play a key role in the land development application process. Using your knowledge of civil engineering you will work closely with internal staff on a variety of developments including, but not limited to, single-family and multi-family residential projects. You embrace new opportunities for growth and thrive working within a multidisciplinary team environment. Your excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer relationship management skills will be critical as you engage with many stakeholders, including Developers, Engineers, Consultants, internal staff, external organizations and the public. Your exceptional organizational skills will aid you in reviewing multiple design-related applications with ambitious timelines. Perform other related duties as assigned.
