Job summary

Framatome Canada is seeking a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of related experience to join our Pickering-based team. You will perform design, evaluation and field tasks, ensuring adherence to engineering standards and regulatory requirements.

You will collaborate across disciplines, apply advanced software tools, and contribute to life-cycle solutions for our nuclear projects. A P.Eng. license and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and P.Eng. license required.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency with specialized engineering software and programming languages.

Responsibilities

  • Performs design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing and field tasks in line with standards.
  • Receives minimal instruction and applies technical judgment to adapt solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with government, organization and customer engineering standards.
  • Develops and applies advanced technical techniques to improve product life cycle and replace Framatome technologies.
  • Collaborates with project teams and supports customer requests.

What You’ll Do Day-To-Day
  • Performs non-routine and varied engineering assignments typically in areas of design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, preparation of specifications, execution of field tasks and resolution of field problems.
  • Receives minimal assistance and instruction on most assignments and solutions.
  • Ensures compliance with government, organization and customer engineering standards.
  • Independently evaluates, selects and applies a variety of technical techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgement in making adaptations and modifications.
  • Continues to develop knowledge of organization processes and customers.
  • Works on special projects, as directed.
  • Performs other related duties and tasks, as required.
  • Utilizes existing and/or acquired technical expertise to find improved technical solutions to support the product life cycle/replacement of current Framatome technologies.
  • Actively participates in solving technical issues identified by project management, business line management or by customer request with the objective to increase business opportunities for Framatome Canada Ltd.
  • Maintains a safety mindset.
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree (4 years) in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience.
  • Registered Professional Engineering License (P. Eng.).
  • Knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria.
  • Good communication skills to comprehend and convey detailed technical data.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships; work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Good problem identification and problem resolution skills.
  • Displays informal leadership characteristics.
  • Exhibits questioning attitude and practices self-checking.
  • Advanced proficiency with specialized software tools and programming languages as required by the role.
Total Rewards Package
  • Salary: $119,000 - $127,000, and may also include annual incentives and performance bonuses. The base salary range is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
