Job summary

Framatome Canada Ltd. seeks a senior nuclear engineer to join our design, development and analysis teams in Ontario.

You will tackle complex engineering challenges across product life cycles, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver safe, reliable reactor technologies. Ideal candidates have a 4-year engineering degree, a P.Eng., 6+ years of related experience, and proven leadership and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (4 years) required.
  • Minimum 6 years of related experience.
  • Professional Engineering License (P.Eng.) required.
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering standards and criteria.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Leadership, problem solving and self-checking mindset.
  • Proficiency with specialized software tools and programming languages as required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex engineering assignments across design, development, analysis, testing, specs, and field tasks.
  • Receives minimal supervision on most tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards.
  • Evaluate and apply technical methods with judgement for complex adaptations.
  • Develop new or adapted products, methods, systems or models to provide value.
  • Research best practices and propose improvements.
  • Work on special projects as directed.
  • Perform related duties as required.
  • Leverage expertise to improve solutions across product life cycle.

What You’ll Do Day‑To‑Day
  • Performs a variety of more complex engineering assignments typically in areas of design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, preparation of specifications, execution of field tasks and resolution of field problems.
  • Receives minimal assistance and instruction on most assignments and solutions.
  • Ensures compliance with government, organization and customer engineering standards.
  • Independently evaluates, selects and applies a variety of technical techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgement in making more complex adaptations and modifications.
  • Develops new or adapted products, methods, systems or models to provide added value solutions to customers.
  • Researches and assesses best practices, proposing methods and improvements.
  • Works on special projects, as directed.
  • Performs other related duties and tasks, as required.
  • Utilizes existing and/or acquired technical expertise to find improved technical solutions to support the product life cycle/replacement of current Framatome technologies.
  • Actively participates in solving technical issues identified by project management, business line management or by customer request with the objective to increase business opportunities for Framatome Canada Ltd.
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree (4 years) in Engineering
  • Minimum of 6 years of related experience.
  • Professional Engineering License (P. Eng.).
  • Advanced knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria.
  • Good communication skills to comprehend and convey detailed technical data.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships; work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Advanced problem identification and problem resolution skills.
  • Displays leadership characteristics.
  • Exhibits questioning attitude and practices self-checking.
  • Advanced proficiency with specialized software tools and programming languages as required by the role.
Total Rewards Package
  • Salary: $XXXX - $XXXX , and may also include annual incentives and performance bonuses. The base salary range is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
