Job description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Civil Construction Project Manager to join our team. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of civil construction projects from inception to completion. This role requires exceptional leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to effectively communicate with clients, subcontractors, and team members.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Coordination:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with clients, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure project specifications and requirements are met.
  • Prepare and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones.

Budget and Cost Management:

  • Monitor project budgets and costs, ensuring projects are completed within financial constraints.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize project expenditures.
  • Review and approve project invoices, change orders, and other financial documents.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant codes, standards, and specifications.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety.
  • Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor and manage project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure all safety protocols and procedures are strictly followed.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring efficient project execution.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to review progress, address issues, and ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with all project stakeholders.
  • Provide regular project updates and status reports to clients and senior management.
  • Document and track project changes, ensuring all stakeholders are informed.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed project documentation, including contracts, permits, and progress reports.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of all required project documentation.
  • Utilize project management software to track and report on project progress.

Skills Required:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and make sound decisions.
  • In-depth knowledge of civil construction processes and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Project Manager in the civil construction industry.
  • PMP or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale civil construction projects.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
