Knappett Industries (2006) Ltd. invites a Civil Construction Estimator to join our Nanaimo head office. You will prepare accurate cost estimates for civil infrastructure, review drawings, and develop pricing strategies while collaborating with project teams.

The role requires 3+ years of civil estimating experience, attention to detail, and proficiency with MS Excel and HeavyBid. Salary ranges from $95,000 to $135,000 CAD, with benefits and relocation support within Western Canada.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of cumulative applicable work experience.
• Familiarity with civil construction.
• Great attention to detail and social skills.
• Strong organization and communication, multitasking ability.
• Skilled in reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and knowledge of MS Project.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for civil infrastructure projects.
• Review drawings, specs, and site conditions to develop quantity take-offs and pricing strategies.
• Use estimating software (MS Excel and HeavyBid) to produce detailed estimates and proposals.
• Identify opportunities in public and private sectors.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and other Estimators to review tenders.
• Participate in pre-construction planning, bid reviews and post-award kick-offs.
• Provide estimating support to project teams during execution.
