Job summary

The City of Guelph is seeking a Project Management Intern to assist the Strategic Initiatives and Intergovernmental Services team. You will support PM standards, help manage project tracking, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across City departments.

You will work 35 hours per week, with a focus on applying PM methodologies and tools such as Planisware Orchestra, Eclipse, SharePoint and Power BI while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in business administration or a relevant field.
• Experience in a project management support role.
• PMP designation is an asset.
• Excellent oral and written communication with stakeholders and the public.
• Ability to research industry best practices and benchmarking.
• Knowledge of risk management programs and project management methodologies.
• Experience with project management tracking software.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft 365 and PM systems like Eclipse, SharePoint, Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Support the existing centralized framework, processes and tools for PM standards.
• Provide technical support to project managers and teams using Planisware Orchestra.
• Support implementation of Project Management Policy and methodologies.
• Conduct studies, audits and pilot programs as directed by leadership.
• Support benchmarking and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Track best practices and trends for potential PMO application.
• Attend meetings as a City representative of Corporate Performance and Strategy.
• Other duties as assigned.
