Job summary

Central Prairie Cartage is growing its Red Deer terminal and is seeking a City P&D Driver to work Monday to Friday starting at 1:30pm. You will handle pickups and deliveries around Red Deer with a 53-foot trailer, pup, or body unit.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, operating pallet jack, forklift, and power walker, completing daily logs, and performing pre-trip inspections. Lifting up to 50 lbs and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 operator’s license.
• 2–5 years driving experience.
• Deck experience is an asset.
• General knowledge of the freight industry.
• Knowledge of rules and regulations regarding safe operation of commercial vehicles, hours of service, and handling of dangerous goods.
• Positive attitude with the ability to work alone or in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills are a must.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Complete pick up and deliveries in and around Red Deer using a 53-foot trailer, pup, or body job.
• Responsible for assisting with loading and unloading of truck and safe operation of pallet jack, forklift, and power walker.
• Complete daily logs and comply with hours-of-service regulations.
• Conduct daily inspection of the vehicle.
• Manual lifting, up to 50 lbs.
• Overtime required.
