The Salvation Army in Canada and Bermuda is seeking a temporary Christmas Kettle Assistant to organize, direct and supervise Christmas Kettle Campaign Worker activities. Shifts include days, evenings, weekends, and split shifts with travel to kettle sites as needed.
We require a High School diploma, a valid Ontario G driver’s license, and solid MS Word/Excel skills; experience in community programs is an asset.

Position Purpose summary: The Christmas Kettle Assistant helps to organize, direct, and supervise the work performed by Christmas Kettle Campaign Worker activities.
This is a temporary position. Shifts may include days, afternoons, evenings, weekend shifts, and split shifts, Monday through Saturday. Applicable shifts include a ½ hour unpaid meal break. Flexibility in scheduling is required, as the hours may increase as per operational requirements. Ability to lift/move up to 20 lbs. (11.34 kgs) in a safe manner. Required to wear appropriate Salvation Army identification. Local travel is associated with this position.
Completed High School or equivalent. Valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s License, provide an original copy of current driver’s abstract for review and verification that it satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required.

Self-motivated/disciplined. Lead by example, by demonstrating a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn and be flexible in the face of change. Ability to maintain information in confidence and exercise good judgement. Demonstrated ability to work independently and participate as an active and responsible team member in a cooperative team environment. Exhibit good listening skills, have strong oral/written communication skills. Honest, courteous, and punctual; prepared to act in the best interest of employer. Represent the organization in a positive, professional, and engaging manner. Treat the property of The Salvation Army with due care and caution. Attentive listening skills for the purpose of supervision, coaching, and conflict resolution.
Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures.
Ability and willingness to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion (i.e., The Salvation Army Abuse Registry) and provide an original copy of a Background Check screening.
Ability and willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities.

The target hiring range for this position is $17.95 to $22.08 with a maximum of $26.20. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
