Mission: As a Chinese Chef at Newrest, you will bring your expertise in Chinese cuisine to prepare and present exceptional dishes for our airline clients. Your skills will ensure high-quality, authentic meals that meet airline standards and delight passengers globally.

Responsibilities:

  • Master and execute a variety of authentic Chinese dishes.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the required menus.
  • Prepare meats, fish, pastas, side dishes, and garnishes following recipes carefully.
  • Roast, fry, steam, grill, bake meats, fish, vegetables as required by recipes.
  • Prepare food by cleaning, peeling, mincing, cutting, chopping, mixing, portioning, measuring ingredients, packaging, and labeling.
  • Maintain proper food production records and ensure all equipment is operational.
  • Responsible for sanitation and post-service setup.
  • Notify management of any maintenance needs or unsafe conditions.
  • Taste and smell prepared food to assess quality and palatability.
  • Monitor temperatures of hot and cold foods during preparation and service to meet established standards.
  • Study recipes assigned by the Executive Chef and coordinate all meal preparations.
  • Coordinate preparation for the following day’s menus.
  • Manage the prep list to plan duties.
  • Ensure recipes are followed to maintain consistent quality.
  • Assist in coordinating and executing special menus for client presentations.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is in working order and kept clean.
  • Wear appropriate food safety equipment while on duty and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Maintain good portion control and production forecasting.
  • Practice proper grooming, personal hygiene, and safety measures.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and other departments.
  • Comply with all company service standards, health and safety procedures, and food safety requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
