Mission : As a Chinese Chef at Newrest, you will bring your expertise in Chinese cuisine to prepare and present exceptional dishes for our airline clients, ensuring high-quality, authentic meals that meet airline standards and delight passengers globally.

Responsibilities

• Master and execute a variety of authentic Chinese dishes.
• Understand and demonstrate menu requirements.
• Prepare meats, fishes, pastas, side dishes, and garnishes following recipes.
• Roast, fry, steam, grill, bake as required.
• Prepare food by cleaning, peeling, mincing, cutting, chopping, mixing, portioning, measuring, packaging, and labeling.
• Maintain food production records and ensure equipment functionality.
• Ensure sanitation and proper post-service setup.
• Report maintenance needs or unsafe conditions.
• Taste and smell food to assess quality.
• Monitor food temperatures to meet safety standards.
• Study recipes and coordinate meal preparations.
• Plan for next-day menus and manage prep lists.
• Maintain recipe standards for consistent quality.
• Assist with special menu preparations for clients.
• Keep kitchen equipment clean and operational.
• Use appropriate food safety and safety equipment.
• Control portions and forecast production needs.
• Practice proper grooming and hygiene.
• Communicate effectively with team members.
• Comply with company standards, health, safety, and food safety protocols.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

We Are Looking For

• Expertise in Chinese cuisine.
• Experience in a similar role at a reputable restaurant or catering business.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) required.
• Proficiency in English reading, writing, and speaking.
• Knowledge of HACCP is an asset (training provided if needed).
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Availability to work on weekends.
