Child and Youth Workers – Open Posting

Casual Positions in Timmins at the FW Schumacher building (Intensive Services Program and Live-In Treatment Program opportunities available)

The Child and Youth Workers within the Intensive Service Program (ISP) are responsible for performing all direct work within its community-based live-in program for children and youth. Duties include, but are not limited to, providing care and supporting the development of life skills and social skills for children and youth aged 8-18 years.

The Child and Youth Workers within the Live-In Treatment Program are responsible for performing all direct work within its program for children and youth. Duties can include administering the clinical program, monitoring activities, completing records, logs, inventories, performing safety checks, and providing interventions to clients.

Job Requirements (Qualifications and Skills)
  1. Successful completion of a diploma and/or degree from an accredited College and/or University in Social Services, Human Services, Police Foundations, Community and Justice Program, Paramedic, or Registered Practical Nursing (RPN) is preferred. A Personal Support Worker Certificate (eight months or longer) may also be considered.
  2. Full-time students actively completing their last year of a diploma and/or degree in Social Services, Human Services, or Nursing may be considered.
  3. Willingness and ability to work flexible hours on an as-needed basis, including days, evenings, and overnights.
  4. Willingness to travel as necessary.
  5. Experience working with children, youth, and families is considered an asset.
  6. Excellent interpersonal, time management, organizational, and communication skills.
  7. Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset for some positions and required for others.
  8. Valid driver’s license and own vehicle are required.
