Job summary

Voith Group in Mississauga, ON seeks a Chief Service Engineer to lead regional engineering quality, reliability and project delivery for hydroelectric solutions. The role drives safe, reliable, cost‑effective outcomes and coordinates across regional units and corporate engineering.

The incumbent will manage engineering studies, design changes, risk assessment and value engineering while ensuring customer satisfaction and on‑time delivery at specification.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of relevant engineering experience in energy/hydro power.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate engineering resources to meet forecasted and running projects and service needs.
• Review and approve minor design modifications per change-control processes.
• Execute engineering studies to deliver safe, reliable solutions and provide technical direction.
• Identify value‑engineering opportunities to improve customer outcomes and differentiation.
• Partner with supply chain to evaluate cost‑effective sourcing and solutions.
• Develop technical solutions optimizing lifecycle cost while meeting requirements.
• Lead repair strategies and ensure procedures are reviewed and approved per standards.
• Evaluate and manage technical risks across OTO and OTC to protect safety, quality, schedule and cost commitments.
• Represent the organization on critical technical matters and lead customer-facing decisions.

Summary

Senior technical engineering role for the regional operating unit within a global group of companies. Accountable for engineering quality, reliability and successful technical, project and product solutions coordinated across regional operating units and corporate engineering. Mission is total customer satisfaction for engineered products installed in hydroelectric power plants by ensuring solutions are safe, reliable, cost‑effective, and delivered on time and to specification. Leads engineered reliability across project technical strategy, equipment design, project design planning, delivery and installation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate engineering resources to meet forecasted and running projects and service needs.
• Review and approve minor design modifications in accordance with established design review and change‑control processes.
• Execute engineering studies to deliver safe, reliable solutions, and provide technical direction to advisors and engineers.
• Identify and propose value‑engineering opportunities that improve customer outcomes and strengthen product differentiation.
• Partner with supply chain to evaluate and select cost‑effective sourcing and supply solutions.
• Develop technical solutions that optimize lifecycle cost while meeting performance, quality and safety requirements.
• Lead repair technical strategies and ensure procedures are reviewed, verified and approved to applicable standards.
• Evaluate and manage technical risks across Offer to Order (OTO) and Order to Cash (OTC) to protect safety, quality, schedule and cost commitments.
• Represent the organization internally and externally on critical technical matters, and lead customer‑facing technical decisions and problem resolution to meet company and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering with advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of relevant work experience in an engineering environment, specifically energy/hydro power generation.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and team player.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in work product.
• Ability to drive an engineering excellence culture.

Physical Demands

• Must talk or hear in an office setting.
• Must stand and walk in an office environment for 4–8 hours; must reach with hands and arms, lift, stoop, or crouch occasionally.
• Must meet vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception; must adjust focus.
• Job may require travel.
