Title of the position: Chief Mechanic (NOC 72401).

Job Duties
  1. Perform maintenance and repair on various types of assets, including drilling equipment.
  2. Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  3. Ensure that all equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
  4. Maintain manuals and schematics of heavy equipment and assets.
  5. Keep accurate records and work order forms for all maintenance and repairs.
  6. Communicate with Yard Supervisor for parts and materials ordering.
  7. Respond to on-site emergencies to repair vital assets and equipment.
  8. Ensure own health and safety and that of colleagues, following safety guidelines and legislation.
  9. Undertake additional duties within your responsibility and competence.
  10. Physical demands include standing, walking on uneven surfaces, lifting up to fifty pounds, bending, crouching, reaching, climbing, and operating equipment.
  11. Work may involve exposure to extreme temperatures, weather conditions, noise, and the need for PPE.
  12. Work hours may vary, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and overtime.
Terms of Employment

Permanent, full-time position.

Wage

$42.00 per hour.

  • Ability to troubleshoot hydraulic systems.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations for rig operations.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Licenses for forklift and skid steer operation.
