National Bank of Canada seeks a Chief Functional Analyst within the Finance - Accounting IT transformation to analyze, optimize and develop business applications and information systems. You’ll translate user needs into requirements, design target processes, and collaborate with delivery teams to validate functionality and acceptance criteria.

You will contribute to strategic IT initiatives, apply agile delivery practices, and advance AI-enabled solutions while enjoying a hybrid work environment

Qualificações

• University degree or diploma in a related field and several years of relevant experience.
• Experience managing business processes and requirements
• Proven experience of functional and technical analysis in delivering large-scale projects
• Experience with testing scenarios and user support
• Delivery in Agile mode (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and knowledge of Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence)
• Ability to think strategically and manage priorities
• Strong interest and practical experience with artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, including generative AI, intelligent automation and decision support tools
• Knowledge of finance and accounting, an asset.

A career as a Chief Functional Analyst in the Finance - Accounting team means that you will play a key role in National Bank’s IT transformation. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you will analyze, optimize and develop business applications and information systems.

You’ll have the opportunity to actively contribute to our organization by using your understanding of user needs, requirements management and process analysis to ensure that the solutions implemented are functionally consistent.

Your job

• Understand business sector strategies, issues and operational realities so you can support IT teams in developing efficient solutions


• Conduct complex analyses, identify discrepancies, and make recommendations to optimize system efficiency and resolve issues


• Document requests and make recommendations for designing or adapting systems to meet business needs and facilitate decision-making


• Produce technical and functional specifications including expected system behaviours, use cases and user interactions with the system


• Design diagrams to model current and target processes


• Collaborate with your delivery team to define acceptance criteria, draw up plans and carry out functionality tests

Prerequisites

• University degree or another diploma in a related field and several years of relevant experience


• Experience managing business processes and requirements


• Proven experience of functional and technical analysis in delivering large-scale projects


• Experience with testing scenarios and user support


• Experience of delivery in Agile mode (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and knowledge of Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
