Job summary

Entegrus Powerlines Inc. is seeking a Director of Engineering and Operations to provide strategic leadership for the prudent, safe and efficient operations of the Engineering and Operations Departments.

The role reports directly to the Vice President of Engineering and Operations and will lead approximately 54 staff across the region. Responsibilities include championing the health and safety program, updating engineering procedures, overseeing capital renewal projects, outage restoration,

Qualifications

• Professional engineer with university degree in electrical engineering.
• MBA is an asset.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in an electrical utility.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical distribution designs, SCADA, GIS; OH&S and EUSA standards; budgeting and strategic planning.

Responsibilities

• Champion safety program and implement safe work strategies and practices.
• Update and design engineering and operational procedures.
• Oversee engineering design, estimates, layout and construction for capital renewal programs and projects.
• Lead outage restoration activities and ensure business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
• Oversee tools, software, and procurement of new technologies for Engineering and Operations.
• Ensure ESA 22/04 compliance and Construction Verification Program training and auditing.
• Lead budgeting processes including capital and OM&A; manage scheduling and variances.
• Coordinate with authorities, utilities, contractors, consultants and customers.
• Manage employees including performance reviews and grievances.
• Identify industry changes and deploy new distribution processes and technologies.
