Job Description
Based in Waterloo, ON, we are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef Manager to oversee daily food service operations.

As a Chef, you will manage kitchen operations, including ordering, inventory, budgeting, menu planning, staff training, and ensuring health and safety standards are met according to Dana Hospitality guidelines.

Your Responsibilities

  • Prepare fresh, scratch-made menus for guests
  • Lead training, development, and mentoring of staff
  • Enhance programming to create a "WOW" factor and lead in the segment
  • Ensure food preparation follows FOODSAFE and HACCP standards
  • Serve clients and staff professionally and personable
  • Consider dietary restrictions such as allergies, vegan, and vegetarian options in meal planning
  • Conduct weekly inventory checks
Qualifications
  • Food Safe, Basic, Advanced, First Aid, Red Seal Certification preferred or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years in hospitality/food service industry
  • 3+ years with culinary expertise across various cuisines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and GFS
  • Extensive knowledge of menu costing and inventory management
  • Strong time management skills
  • Comprehensive practical and theoretical kitchen knowledge (hot, cold, pastry, butchery, catering)
  • Effective leadership, positive personality, and good listening skills
  • Values of accountability, respect, health and safety, trust
  • Innovative mindset for growth and programming
