Job Description
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reporting to the Manager or designate, and working in a computerized environment, the Charge Aide, Sterile Supply Processing, cleans, decontaminates, assembles, wraps, sterilizes and distributes complex and specialized instruments, supplies, linen and equipment related to operative procedures; provides work direction and supervises assigned Sterile Supply Processing staff; maintains records, summarizes statistics and performs a variety of administrative and clerical duties.
Grade 12, plus successful completion of a Sterile Supply Processing course and two (2) years' recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
