Mr. X Inc. is a Toronto-based creative production studio seeking a skilled CFX artist to join our team. You will set up and run simulations for hair, cloth, and muscle, and collaborate with animation and lighting to integrate simulations into shots.

The role emphasizes solving complex simulation issues, optimizing for rendering, and maintaining continuity across sequences. A strong communicator who can work across departments is essential; hybrid options support work-from-home or in-studio work.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional CFX experience in film/VFX.
• Proficiency in Houdini (Vellum, cloth/hair/muscle solvers) or similar simulation tools.
• Strong understanding of physics-based simulation and problem-solving.
• Experience troubleshooting simulation artifacts and collisions.
• Familiarity with rendering pipelines and optimization.
• Experience with Rigging or Grooming a strong plus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-departmentally.
