Job summary

Pacekids Programs is seeking a Certified Teacher in Calgary, AB to plan and deliver daily lessons aligned with the Alberta curriculum. You will develop IPPs, mentor CTAs, and collaborate with therapists and families to support each child’s growth.

The role requires Alberta teaching certification, leadership and strong communication, and a willingness to obtain required checks. Competitive benefits and a path for ongoing professional development are offered.

Qualifications

  • Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate (or recognized equivalent)
  • Experience with young children; experience with children with special needs recommended
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
  • Valid Alberta driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • First Aid & CPR Level C (or willingness to obtain)
  • Recent (within 6 months) Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector and Child Welfare Intervention Check

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver daily lesson plans aligned with Alberta Education curriculum.
  • Develop and update IPPs and guide your team to implement goals.
  • Supervise and mentor CTAs with coaching and evaluations.
  • Foster a positive classroom environment supporting social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Collaborate with therapists, families, and the interdisciplinary team for strategies.
  • Prepare reports, track progress, maintain documentation, and participate in parent-teacher interviews.
  • Ensure compliance with Alberta Education, Accreditation, and Health & Safety standards.
  • Support transition planning for children moving into Grade 1.
  • Assist with self-help skills as needed (toileting/diapering).
  • Participate in planning meetings, case conferences, and field trip coordination.
