Job summary

Tolko is seeking a Certified Millwright or Planerman for our Williams Lake mill in British Columbia. You will join a high-performance team responsible for maintaining all mill machinery and ensuring safe, reliable operation.

The role emphasizes preventative maintenance, problem-solving, and knowledge sharing with apprentices. The ideal candidate has a valid Interprovincial ticket, planer experience or equivalent, and strong skills in blueprint reading, safety, and communication.

Qualifications

  • Certified Millwright with planer experience or Planerman with valid Interprovincial ticket
  • Experience troubleshooting hydraulic systems
  • Ability to read blueprints, plans and schematics
  • Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to safety
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Good organizational and planning skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience with CMMS (JD Edwards) is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Work with a high-performance team dedicated to maintaining all mill machinery including pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers and chains
  • Keep systems running smoothly by performing preventative and predictive maintenance, inspecting machinery and equipment
  • Find safe, creative ways to boost equipment reliability and streamline processes
  • Troubleshoot issues and implement safe, reliable fixes to keep the mill running
  • Share knowledge with Apprentices to develop maintenance skills

We’re looking for aCertified Millwright or Planerman to join our redesigned, modern lumber mill located nearWilliams Lake, British Columbia.Our Lakeview Division safely and sustainably produces over 230 million board feet of lumber per year for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities. Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Certified Millwright with planer experience, Certified Planerman with a valid Interprovincial ticket, or Planer Tech I or II/ 3rd or 4th year Millwright Apprentice.
  • Experience troubleshooting hydraulic systems
  • Ability toread blueprints, plans and schematics.
  • Strongproblem-solvingskills.
  • Commitment to working safely.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability towork independentlywith little supervision
  • Good organizational and planning skills.
  • Proficient inMicrosoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience withComputerized Maintenance Management Systems(CMMS) - preferably JD Edwards.
  • Previous experience in a forest products environment is considered an asset.
