Job summary

Tolko's Kamloops-based Heffley Creek division seeks Certified Millwrights to maintain mill machinery and support safety, reliability, and productivity on a resilient team. You will participate in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and knowledge sharing with Apprentices, contributing to sustainable forest products.

Qualifications

  • Certified Millwright with valid Interprovincial Red Seal Certification.
  • Hydraulic systems troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints, plans and schematics.
  • Commitment to working safely with strong communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Organizational and planning skills.
  • Experience with CMMS systems and JD Edwards are considered assets.
  • Previous experience in a forest products environment considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Work with a high-performance team dedicated to maintaining all mill machinery including pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers and chains, bearings and hydraulic systems involved in the manufacturing process.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance. This includes inspecting machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Find safe, creative ways to boost equipment reliability and streamline our processes.
  • Troubleshoot issues and come up with safe, reliable fixes to keep the mill running.
  • Share your knowledge with the next generation of maintenance rockstars – our Apprentices.

We’re looking for Certified Millwrightsto join our Heffley Creek division, located in Kamloops, British Columbia.With approximately 250 employees, Heffley Creek Division produces plywood and veneer products, safely and sustainably while producing approximately 180 million square feet of plywood and 28 million square feet of veneer per year, for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
  • Certified Millwright with valid Interprovincial Red Seal Certification.
  • Hydraulic systems troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability or read blueprints, plans and schematics.
  • Commitment to working safely coupled with strong communication & interpersonal skills.
