Job summary

Tolko Industries in High Level, Alberta is seeking a Certified Millwright to maintain and troubleshoot mill machinery across our largest sawmill. You will ensure safe operations, perform preventative maintenance, and keep pumps, conveyors and hydraulic systems running smoothly.

You will work with a high-performance team, apply your maintenance knowledge, read blueprints, and use JD Edwards CMMS to plan and track work while contributing to a safe, sustainable forest products operation.

Qualifications

• Experience working as a Millwright with a valid Interprovincial Ticket.
• Experience troubleshooting hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, plans and schematics.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to working safely.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Good organizational and planning skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience with CMMS JD Edwards.
• Previous forest products experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot mill machinery to keep production running safely.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers, bearings, chains and hydraulic components.
• Inspect machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions.
• Find safe, creative ways to boost equipment reliability and streamline processes.
• Apply knowledge to troubleshoot issues and implement safe, reliable fixes.
• Share knowledge with Apprentices and team members.

We’re looking for a Certified Millwright to join our largest sawmill, located in High Level, Alberta. Our High Level Lumber Division safely and sustainably produces forest products for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities.

• Experience working as a Millwright with a valid Interprovincial Ticket.
• Experience troubleshooting hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, plans and schematics.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to working safely .
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills .
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Good organizational and planning skills .
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) - preferably JD Edwards.
• Previous experience in a forest products environment is considered an asset.
