Job summary

Extendicare is seeking a Casual Part-Time Certified Activity Aide to plan, implement, and evaluate activation programs for residents in our Toronto-area long-term care homes. The role involves coordinating activities, transporting residents, and maintaining accurate records under supervision.

Applicants must have a valid Activation/Gerontology Diploma or Degree and demonstrate strong communication and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong documentation and record-keeping abilities.
• Experience in one-on-one/group program planning and evaluation.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and evaluate activation programs for individuals and groups.
• Set up and transport residents to activities and monitor during programs.
• Report significant changes to supervisor and nursing staff.
• Contribute to development and revision of programs under supervision.
• Maintain program and resident records per policy.
• Communicate resident participation to registered staff.
• Collaborate with other departments to meet resident needs.
