Job summary

Extendicare Kawartha Lakes is seeking an Certified Activity Aide to support residents with engaging programming across five domains. The role involves calendar planning, therapeutic activities, assessments, care planning, implementation and documentation.

You will collaborate with care teams and participate in IDTCs to adapt programs for individual needs. You will also engage with residents, families and volunteers, support fundraising efforts and liaise with local businesses, ensuring safety

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, gerontology, kinesiology or related field from college or university, or enrolled in same.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver resident programming across 5 domains with calendar planning, therapy programs, assessments and care planning.
  • Document end of program reports and participation in IDTCs; coordinate and adapt programs as needed.
  • Public relations activities including fundraising and liaising with local businesses and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate resident, family and volunteer interactions and ensure safety and quality of service.
