SAIT’s Continuing Education and Professional Studies (CEPS) seeks an industry-experienced SME to modernize the Industrial Instrumentation Certificate for Calgary and beyond. We are looking for a SME who can help us move our Industrial Instrumentation Certificate from a traditional instrumentation curriculum toward a modern, industry-aligned Industrial Instrumentation and Automation learning pathway that prepares learners for both today’s workplace and the evolving industrial environment. The ideal SME possesses industry experience, technical leadership, curriculum/training experience and awareness of emerging technologies.
The engagement would initially focus on a comprehensive curriculum and market review, followed by recommendations and support for the redesign of the Industrial Instrumentation suite.
We are looking for an experienced industry professional with 10 years of relevant industrial experience, preferably with significant recent experience in one or more of the following environments:
The individual should have strong practical experience in instrumentation, automation and process control, rather than being solely academically focused.
The SME does not necessarily need to be an AI specialist. However, they should be able to identify where AI and emerging digital technologies genuinely add value to instrumentation and process control, rather than simply adding AI as a standalone topic.
Experience or demonstrated knowledge in areas such as the following would be highly desirable:
