Job summary

The Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF) seeks a full-time Centre Director for the Little Fox Childcare Centre at 200 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB. You will oversee daily operations, hire staff, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with government regulations, while delivering Red River Métis-specific programming.

Ideal candidates have a Child Development Degree or ECE III Diploma, plus at least three years of Centre Director experience, familiarity with Circle of Security, and a valid Manitoba

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in child development or ECE III required.
• Minimum three years' experience as Centre Director or similar role.
• Knowledge of Circle of Security and MMF programs is an asset.
• Ability to travel with Manitoba driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Oversee delivery and implementation of Red River Métis-specific programming and curriculum, incorporating Circle of Security Philosophy.
• Ensure compliance with Government Regulations.
• Register children.
• Collect parent and subsidy fees.
• Complete reports and inclusion payment processing.
• Develop partnerships with external agencies and community partners.
• Maintain public relations with stakeholders.
• Participate in annual budget preparation.
• Manage and maintain centre budget.

Job description

The Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF) is the democratically elected National Government of the Red River Métis, also known as the Manitoba Métis. The Red River Métis are a distinct Indigenous Nation and People, and Canada's Negotiating Partners in Confederation and the Founders of the Province of Manitoba.

The MMF seeks to fillone full-time Centre Director position within ourLittle Fox Childcare Centrelocated at200 Main StreetinWinnipeg, MB. The Centre Director is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the childcare facility, including hiring, administration, and financial management. Manitoba Early Childhood Educators II, who are actively enrolled in a program to obtain a Level III classification, are encouraged to apply. We are looking for an energetic, flexible, and reliable individual passionate about childcare and early learning for Red River Métis children.

Job Duties/Competencies:

• Oversee the delivery and implementation of Red River Métis-specific programming and curriculum, and incorporate the Circle of Security Philosophy;

Skills and Qualifications:

• Child Development Degree or ECE III Diploma, Advanced ECE III Diploma;
• Minimum of three years' experience in a Centre Director role or relevant role with demonstrated ability to deliver programs and services;
• Knowledge and experience with Fastoche required, or a willingness to learn;
• Circle of Security Certificate anasset;
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and time management skills;
• Clear Vulnerable Sector Check, Criminal Record Check, and Child Abuse Registry Check;
• Knowledge of Red River Métis culture, MMF programs and services is a definite asset; and,
• Ability to travel, valid Manitoba Driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle.
