Job summary

Nova Family of Schools within the Chignecto-Central Regional Centre for Education is seeking casual custodians for temporary assignments across Colchester, East Hants, Pictou, and Cumberland Counties. Positions may lead to permanent employment, contingent on needs and performance.

In this role you will perform standard custodial tasks as part of the CCRCE operations, with the opportunity to join a broader regional team devoted to safe, clean school environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent (GED).
• Possess a valid Nova Scotia driver’s license.
• Experience/knowledge in modern cleaning methods, materials, and equipment is an asset.
• Willingness to obtain WHMIS and first aid training.

The Chignecto-Central Regional Centre for Education invites applications from new applicants for TEMPORARY CUSTODIANS for the Chignecto-Central Regional Centre for Education encompassing Colchester, East Hants, Pictou, and Cumberland Counties (Cobequid, Celtic, Nova and Chignecto Families of Schools). Placement in temporary positions could lead to permanent employment.

Rate of Pay

$24.68/hr. as per the CCRCE/CUPE Collective Agreement

Requirements

• Minimum of Grade 12 high school diploma or academic equivalent through educational programs such as Graduated Equivalent Diploma (GED)
• Possess a valid N.S. Driver’s License;
• Experience/knowledge in modern cleaning methods, materials, and equipment
  would be a definite asset;
• Have or be willing to take WHMIS, first aid training, etc.
• Be able to provide their own transportation to and from work sites

Note

Prospective candidates will be required to successfully complete the Custodial Training Program conducted by Property Services Staff before commencing employment in any custodial position.
