Responsibilities for Tactical Security Supervisor
- Lead a team of security guards, monitor individuals with immigration issues, and manage security procedures at the site.
- Manage and direct security operations, ensuring safety and security with compassion and de-escalation techniques.
- Develop, implement, and oversee security policies and procedures.
- Protect people, assets, and property.
- Escort individuals within the facility, using restraints when necessary to ensure safety.
- Work with individuals under stress, demonstrating empathy and compassion.
- Monitor, observe, and report on detainee behavior.
- Conduct regular patrols indoors and outdoors.
- Utilize tactical training to de-escalate potentially dangerous situations.
This role requires vigilance, efficiency, customer service skills, and compassion, as you will work with vulnerable individuals.
Qualifications
- Security Supervisor experience managing 10+ guards.
- 1-3 years of personnel management in a unionized environment; healthcare experience is a plus.
- Valid Ontario security guard license.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification from a WSIB-recognized provider.
- Canadian citizenship or 5-year permanent residence.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to pass Public Works Clearance and Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Flexible availability for full-time or part-time work.
- At least 1 year of experience working in a vulnerable sector and 1 year in tactical security.
- Leadership skills and ability to respond quickly in emergencies.
- Understanding of security, safety, and concise communication.
- Experience in care and control of individuals, preferably in law enforcement, court services, hospital, or private security, especially with CBSA at an IHC.
