Job summary

COMPASS GROUP CANADA is seeking a Catering Server to deliver and serve food at scheduled functions in Durham Region, Oshawa. You will assemble, deliver, and maintain food and supplies, log temperatures, and support setup and closeout tasks.

Strong communication, organization, and the ability to work under pressure are essential. Candidates should have a valid Food Handler Certificate and Responsible Beverage Service Certificate, plus at least 1 year of relevant experience and possibly a valid

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent and Responsible Beverage Service Certificate for the province in which you are applying.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a similar environment.
• Valid driver's license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and serve food and beverages at scheduled functions.
• Assemble and deliver all food and supplies for catered functions to scheduled locations.
• Log and maintain food temperatures.
• Assist with food and table prep before events begin.
• Arrange buffet tables with food, beverage, and service items according to standards.
• Serve plated dinners to guests and respond to beverage/appetizer requests.
• Keep display equipment clean and debris-free during service.
• Clean location after events and assist with inventory and closeout tasks.
• Return equipment to catering facility and restock as needed.
• Maintain clean and safe work environment and knowledge of menu items.

Must be able to work weekend, nights as shifts vary as per catering needs

How you will make an impact:

You will be responsible for delivering and serving food and beverages at scheduled functions.

As a Catering Server, you will:

• Assemble and deliver all food and supplies for catered functions to their scheduled locations
• Log and maintain food temperatures
• Assist with food and table prep before events begin
• Arrange buffet tables with food, beverage, and service items according to standards
• Serve plated dinners to guests and respond to requests for beverages, appetizers, and other needs
• Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service
• Thoroughly clean location after event is completed and assist with inventory, food storage and other closeout tasks
• Return food and beverages, serving equipment and utensils to catering facility
• Stock, clean and maintain catering facility and equipment
• Ensure guests receive friendly, courteous service at all times
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of the complete menu and products on hand
• Maintain clean and safe work environment
• Follow safety and sanitation policy and procedures at all times
• May drive a catering delivery truck

About you:

• You must have a valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent and Responsible Beverage Service Certificate for the province in which you are applying
• Minimum 1 year experience in a similar environment
• Valid driver's license may be required
• Able to accurately read event orders and organize deliveries for the day
• Ability to remain calm under pressure while working in a fast-paced environment
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Extremely well organized and efficient; able to multi-task
