Job summary

Autismservices is seeking a Youth Worker for the My Homes Youth Housing Program in Saskatoon. The ideal candidate will support hard-to-serve youth, develop trusting relationships, and work a flexible shift schedule including evenings and weekends.

Key qualifications include some post-secondary education in human services, relevant experience, CPR and ASIST training, and a valid Class 5 driver's license. The position offers pension benefits.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated healthy lifestyle and CPR and ASIST training.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriate boundaries.
  • Valid graduated Class 5 driver’s licence with a safe driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Support services for youth involved in at-risk and high-risk lifestyles.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with youth and staff.
  • Work within required shift schedule.

Salary: $23.79/hr

Work Hours: Shift work – Daytime, Evenings, Weekends, Awake Overnights

Summary: The Saskatoon Downtown Youth Centre Inc. – EGADZ requires a Youth Worker for the My Homes Youth Housing Program. EGADZ is an inter‑agency, non‑profit organization dedicated to supporting hard‑to‑serve youth in Saskatoon. The My Homes Residential Program provides support services for youth involved in at‑risk and high‑risk lifestyles. Ideal candidates are non‑judgmental, compassionate, and capable of building trusting relationships with youth.

Qualifications:

  • Completed at least some post‑secondary education in human services or related field.
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated healthy lifestyle and CPR and ASIST training (ASIST within first 6 months of employment).
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with youth, staff and partnering agencies while maintaining strict confidentiality and appropriate boundaries.
  • Ability to express ideas and concepts effectively in oral and written form.
  • Working knowledge of computers/windows.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous cultures and issues.
  • Good understanding of EGADZ and its mission.
  • Valid graduated Class 5 driver’s licence with a safe driving record (Driver’s Abstract required within 3 months).
  • Criminal record check (within 6 months).
  • Willingness to work required shift schedule, including evenings, nights and weekends.
